Manager Projects

About the role

Etihad Airways is looking for a Manager Projects to lead the delivery of long-term technical projects and programs. The role ensures that objectives are met according to plan, schedule and budget so that business objectives are achieved. It is a full-time position based in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop business cases supporting cost-benefit analysis, feasibility, requirements, expected benefits, continued airworthiness implications and safety impacts.
• Lead development of large projects, proposals, solutions, implementation, roadmaps and delivery in line with technical strategic requirements.
• Create, monitor and update program work plans covering scope, requirements, milestones, resources, budget, deliverables and acceptance criteria.
• Communicate with project sponsors and business leads so that key messages reach stakeholders and decisions are made effectively.
• Apply management of change principles to assess impacts on continued airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, procedures and operational readiness, and review change requests for timeline and budget impact.
• Report key milestones and issues to senior stakeholders and manage operational issues promptly.
• Lead program monitoring so that major risks and issues are identified and managed efficiently.
• Contribute to improving policies, standards and core processes, and help develop Etihad's Project Management framework and handbook.
• Manage the training plan for large teams of PMO specialists to build internal PMO capabilities.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree or higher (vocational certificate, bachelor's or master's).
• At least 7 years of experience in a relevant field, including 3 years in a managerial position.
• Preferred: project management qualification such as PMP, APM or PMI membership, or proven knowledge of methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile Project Management.
