Manufacturing Engineering Specialist - Switchgear Panels

About the role

Vertiv is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join its team that manufactures Switchgear Panels. The specialist optimizes manufacturing processes, ensures product quality and improves efficiency on the SWGR production line. The role needs a deep understanding of SWGR manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare production documentation for new projects, prototypes and assembly
• Improve existing operations by introducing new methods and procedures
• Identify ways to reduce production costs and resolve technical manufacturing issues
• Collaborate with technical and other departments to prepare cost estimates for new projects and improvements
• Take part in the procurement and design of handling and manufacturing equipment
• Work with the Lean Supervisor on lean projects aimed at eliminating waste
• Follow the procedures of the integrated management system, lean manufacturing and 5S principles, and comply with international trade rules
• Contribute to standards and submit improvement proposals within the continuous improvement system

Required profile

• University degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 8 years of experience in electrical engineering
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Good knowledge of CAD/CAM systems
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, especially Lean Manufacturing
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided
