Maritime Accountant – Corporate HQ, Dubai

About the role

We are seeking a Maritime Accountant to join our corporate headquarters in Dubai. The role involves preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting audit processes within a maritime agency environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in completing monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports within deadlines.
• Prepare profit & loss and balance sheet schedules as applicable.
• Reconcile inventory, supplier and customer accounts.
• Handle fixed asset accounting and maintain asset schedules.
• Compile information for business unit MIS reports.
• Book invoices ensuring proper approvals, purchase orders, GRNs, and adjust supplier advances before payments.
• Maintain accounts payable listings and post‑dated cheques.
• Prepare bank payments after verifying supporting documents and approvals.
• Reconcile bank balances with bank statements.
• Process petty cash payments and safeguard physical cash balances.
• Account for all bank and cash receipts promptly.
• Prepare manual cheques as required and record them.
• Enter and reconcile intercompany transactions each month.
• Assist in preparing schedules and work papers for quarterly and yearly audits.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by superiors.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce degrees.
• Minimum three years of accounting experience in a maritime agency.
• Fluency with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
