Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of building‑services systems for projects in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full design cycle from concept through detailed design, authority submission and tender documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for HVAC, ventilation, water supply, drainage and related building services.
• Perform cooling‑load and ventilation calculations, size ducts and pipes, select equipment and prepare technical schedules.
• Produce design drawings, specifications, reports and mechanical inputs to bills of quantities.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical and fire‑life safety disciplines.
• Prepare and submit authority documents, respond to comments and review contractor shop drawings and submittals.
• Identify energy‑efficient solutions and support value‑engineering activities while maintaining design quality and project deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of mechanical building‑services design experience, preferably in an engineering consultancy.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi authority submission procedures and UAE codes is strongly preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and drainage systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Experience using HAP or equivalent cooling‑load calculation software.
• Ability to prepare and check calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports independently.
