Mechanical Procurement Engineer

About the role

GCC, a major contractor established in 1988 with headquarters in Abu Dhabi, is looking for a Mechanical Procurement Engineer to join its Procurement Department. The engineer handles the procurement of mechanical materials and supports the procurement of civil and electrical materials when required. The role covers the full purchasing process, from material requisitions to Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), and includes coordination of long-lead items and material approvals.

Key responsibilities

• Procure mechanical materials in line with project requirements.
• Manage purchasing from receiving material requisitions through issuing LPOs.
• Coordinate long-lead items according to project schedules.
• Work with suppliers and project teams on materials that need consultant approval.
• Follow up with suppliers on material submittals and supporting documents.
• Assist with procurement of civil and electrical materials when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; only candidates residing in the UAE are considered.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Practical experience procuring mechanical materials.
• Knowledge of civil and electrical materials and suppliers.
• Experience in infrastructure and building projects is preferred.
