Medical Transcriptionist

About the role

Royal Khalifa City Hospital Abu Dhabi is looking for a Medical Transcriptionist. The role involves listening to the dictation of doctors and other healthcare professionals and turning it into diagnostic test results, operative reports, referral letters and other documents.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and transcribe medical reports and correspondence on patient assessment, tests, procedures, clinical course, diagnoses and prognosis.
• Operate word processing, dictation and transcription equipment as directed.
• Meet the efficiency targets set by doctors and departments.
• Produce quality transcription using proper resources and proofreading, while keeping report contents confidential.
• Follow department and doctors' formats for reports.
• Work under pressure with time constraints and understand diverse accents and dictation styles.
• Comply with OSH and infection control policies, attend related training and mock drills, and follow waste management procedures.

Required profile

• High school level or equivalent; graduate qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
• Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills, including English grammar, punctuation and style.
• Ability to transcribe medical audio files with 100% accuracy.
• Good eye, hand and auditory coordination.
• Arabic is desirable but not mandatory.
