Molecular Biology Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Molecular Biology Specialist to join a leading biotechnology research client on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, executing, and analyzing molecular biology experiments that support gene‑therapy and genetic‑engineering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and perform molecular biology experiments, including PCR, cloning, DNA/RNA extraction, and nucleic acid purification.
• Analyze experimental data using bioinformatics tools and statistical methods.
• Document protocols, results, and present findings to cross‑functional teams.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to integrate molecular workflows into broader projects.
• Optimize and troubleshoot protocols to improve efficiency and reproducibility.

Required profile

• Proficiency in PCR, gel electrophoresis, and nucleic acid purification techniques.
• Experience with Next‑Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of molecular cloning, including Gibson Assembly and restriction digestion.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools such as BLAST, Primer‑BLAST, and sequence alignment software.
• Ability to troubleshoot experimental issues and propose effective solutions.
