Night Auditor – Hotel Front Desk

About the role

The Night Auditor ensures smooth hotel operations during the overnight shift, handling guest arrivals, departures, and financial reconciliations while providing excellent service.

Key responsibilities

• Complete all guest arrival and departure tasks in line with internal procedures.
• Inform guests about hotel services, wake‑up calls, safe deposit, and other amenities.
• Pass relevant information to other departments and front‑desk team members.
• Block rooms for early arrivals and allocate rooms for guests and groups.
• Write nightly activity and incident reports.
• Ensure guest documentation at reception is up‑to‑date.
• Verify correct billing and collections during check‑out.
• Review arrival lists, correct errors, and investigate rate code discrepancies.
• Participate in night audit, trial‑balance checks, and cross‑checking of guest room rates.
• Reconcile guest balances, credit limits, and transactions between Opera Cloud, Micros, and credit‑card machines.
• Maintain preventive maintenance records per Accor policy.
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and late‑night guest requests such as room service or transportation.
• Communicate night‑shift updates to the morning team and collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security.

Required profile

• Prior experience in customer service or front‑desk roles.
• Experience in accounting or bookkeeping is beneficial.
• Familiarity with hotel management software and systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency with computers and basic accounting software.
• Good problem‑solving skills and calmness under pressure.
