About the role

The Occupational Therapist – Rehabilitation will deliver comprehensive occupational therapy services within Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Mohammad Medical City. Working independently or under senior supervision, the role focuses on assessing and treating patients with diverse and complex needs to promote functional independence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Develop and implement individualized, client‑centered treatment plans using advanced clinical reasoning.
• Provide occupation‑focused interventions and monitor patient progress.
• Supervise junior staff, ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain inventory of therapy supplies and equipment, reporting shortages and approving replenishments.
• Document clinical observations, complete reports, and maintain accurate records in line with professional guidelines.
• Develop discharge plans and coordinate ongoing care with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with experience in rehabilitation settings.
• Ability to work under indirect supervision and manage a personal caseload.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and carers, including those with communication difficulties.
• Awareness of vulnerable patient groups and ability to perform risk assessments.
