About the role
The Ophthalmology Specialist will ensure eye care services meet Department of Health standards, provide consultations after hours, and support both curative and preventive patient programs.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor daily ophthalmic care to ensure compliance with DoH standards.
- Participate in review of complex cases and quality‑related activities.
- Coordinate with the Head of Department to plan and implement curative and preventive eye‑care programs.
- Teach nursing and ancillary staff, orient new staff, and serve on committees as requested.
- Adhere strictly to infection control, patient safety, assessment and care policies.
Required profile
- 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience at specialist level (independent of country).
- At least 1 year specialist experience in a Tier 1 country as defined by UAE regulator.
- Medical degree with recognized ophthalmology specialty qualification (fellowship/diploma) approved by UAE health authority.
- Active registration and valid life‑support certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
