Optometrist – Patient Care & Clinical Supervision

About the role

Deira Medical Center is seeking a qualified Optometrist to deliver high‑quality eye care to patients in Dubai. The role combines direct clinical responsibilities with participation in the supervision and improvement of the optometry department.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and contact lens fittings for patients.
• Maintain the highest standards of practice, ethics, and professionalism at all times.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director and Head of Department to control and supervise optometry practice and dispensary operations.
• Stay updated on new techniques, philosophies, and equipment in the field of optometry.
• Participate in quality‑assurance committee meetings, provider meetings, and general staff meetings.
• Assist in developing medical policies, quality‑improvement procedures, and evaluating current practices.
• Ensure compliance with DHA regulations, Joint Commission International norms, and other relevant international guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Optometry or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience in optometry.
• Current licensure in the country of origin and a valid DHA license to practice in the UAE.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable but not essential.
