Payroll Specialist (Fully Remote)

About the role

A fully remote, full-time Payroll Specialist position is open. The role covers processing employee pay, reviewing timesheets and attendance, preparing payroll reports and supporting payroll reconciliation, with coordination between HR and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Process employee payroll accurately and ensure payments are made on schedule.
• Review timesheets, attendance records, overtime, leave and payroll adjustments.
• Calculate salaries, deductions, allowances, bonuses and other employee payments.
• Maintain and update confidential employee payroll records.
• Prepare payroll reports and assist with payroll reconciliations.
• Respond to employee questions about payslips, salary payments and payroll discrepancies.
• Coordinate with HR and finance teams to verify employee and payroll information.
• Assist with payroll documentation and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Identify and resolve payroll errors and support improvements to payroll procedures and workflows.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field preferred.
• Good numerical, analytical and organisational skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable workspace for remote work.
• Previous payroll or accounting experience is an advantage; junior applicants with relevant education and a willingness to learn are welcome.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and payroll software is an advantage.
