Pediatric Dentist Specialist (Al Dhafra Region)

About the role

SEHA is seeking a qualified and compassionate Specialist Dentist in Pediatric Dentistry to join its healthcare services in the Al Dhafra Region. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic dental care to infants, children, adolescents and pediatric patients with special healthcare needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dental assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up for pediatric patients.
• Deliver preventive care such as fluoride treatment, sealants, oral hygiene education and caries prevention.
• Perform restorative procedures, pulp therapy, crowns, extractions and other procedures within the specialist scope of practice.
• Diagnose and manage dental caries, oral infections, dental trauma and developmental dental conditions.
• Assess dental development, eruption patterns and occlusion in children.
• Apply pediatric behaviour-management techniques for anxious or uncooperative children and manage dental emergencies.
• Care for children with special healthcare needs and educate parents and caregivers on oral hygiene, nutrition and preventive care.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, orthodontists, surgeons and anesthesiology teams when multidisciplinary care is needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and comply with SEHA standards for quality, patient safety and infection prevention.
• Take part in clinical audits, quality-improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Dentistry / Dental Surgery (BDS, DDS, DMD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Recognised postgraduate qualification or specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry.
• Relevant post-qualification clinical experience in Pediatric Dentistry.
• Experience with complex pediatric cases and children with special healthcare needs is preferred.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license as a Specialist Dentist in Pediatric Dentistry, or eligibility to obtain it; must meet the applicable DOH professional qualification requirements for the Specialist Dentist title.
