Pharmacist

About the role

The Pharmacist at Bait Al Shifaa Pharmacy in Dubai will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, and ensuring compliance with DHA regulations and Joint Commission International standards.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications to in‑patients according to prescriptions.
• Review and interpret each prescription to verify strength, dose instructions and dosage form.
• Provide patient counseling and appropriate medication information.
• Clarify prescription abnormalities with prescribing physicians and refer unresolved issues to the chief pharmacist.
• Supervise repackaging, labeling and documentation of medications for other departments.
• Answer drug‑related inquiries from doctors, nurses and customers, escalating when necessary.
• Assist in training new pharmacists and pharmacy staff under the chief pharmacist’s direction.
• Perform specialty pharmacy activities as delegated and trained.
• Manage medicine stock, monitor near‑expiry medicines and update the controlled medicine register daily.
• Follow international guidelines, DHA regulations and JCI norms while performing duties.

Required profile

• Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority.
• Maintain a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary.
• Clear and effective communication skills in English (spoken and written).
• Desirable: ability to work as part of an inter‑professional team, organizational skills for electronic medical record documentation, and effective communication in Arabic.
