Pharmacist

About the role

A pharmacy in Abu Dhabi is looking for a pharmacist who will compound and dispense medications, advise customers on their drug therapy and provide basic health checks. The position also covers pharmacy operations and administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Compound and dispense medications as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor customers' drug therapies, advise on interventions and inform them of possible side effects.
• Instruct customers on how and when to take their prescribed medicines.
• Conduct health and wellness screenings, such as blood pressure, temperature and blood sugar checks.
• Keep accurate customer records and ensure a safe, clean working environment.
• Complete pharmacy operations: verify order entries, maintain records of controlled substances, charges and remove expired or damaged drugs from stock.
• Follow legal rules and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice and carry out other administrative tasks when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or pharmacology.
• Proven experience as a pharmacist.
• Flexible with location and timing.
• Experience in OTC sales, cross-selling and upselling.
• DOH or HAAD license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Great organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills (Arabic and English).

Required skills

• Detailed knowledge of dosage requirements, administration, chemical compounds and pharmaceutical brands.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and pharmacy software.
