Pharmacist

About the role

NMC Healthcare, a large private healthcare provider in the UAE, is hiring a Pharmacist in Sharjah. The post holder manages the pharmacy from the Ministry of Health and organization's point of view, ensuring high-quality patient and customer service and accurate dispensing within the scope of pharmacy.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome patients and customers, greet them and ensure no one is left unattended.
• Dispense medicines accurately, in the correct dosage and quantity prescribed by the physician, with clear instructions and packaging that preserves potency.
• Assign, delegate, train, induct and evaluate pharmacy staff, encourage teamwork and supervise the maintenance of medicines and products on the racks.
• Handle phone calls and answer customer queries; implement and improve quality SOPs according to MOH guidelines with the Quality Manager.
• Keep the pharmacy MOH compliant, update documentation regularly and take part in monthly review meetings.
• Manage stock: liquidate products with short shelf life, prioritize non-moving OTC stock, check expiry daily, and remove near-expiry items 3 months before expiry.
• Complete cash bills at the time of dispensing, share monthly inventory data with the center manager, finance and purchase team, and keep the controlled medicines register up to date.
• Submit insurance claim forms and handle related clerical paperwork, keeping cash dealings accurate and reporting variances to accounts.
• Comply with occupational safety and health policies, infection prevention and control measures (including hand hygiene), and attend OSH training and drills.

Required profile

• A valid license to practice as a pharmacist in the relevant regulatory authority, with all required qualifications and experience.
• Own professional re-licensure.
• A valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable.
• Evidence of working in an inter-professional team and organizational/administrative skills are desirable.
