Physiotherapist – Post-Acute Rehabilitation

About the role

The Post-Acute Rehabilitation Physiotherapist will join Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital’s dedicated rehabilitation unit. You will deliver individualized physiotherapy programs to patients recovering from acute illness, injury, surgery, or neurological events, aiming to restore mobility, functional independence, and quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for patients referred to post‑acute rehabilitation.
• Develop and implement evidence‑based, individualized treatment plans.
• Provide physiotherapy interventions to improve strength, balance, gait, and overall functional independence.
• Apply specialized techniques such as Neuro‑Developmental Treatment (NDT) and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) when appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to ensure holistic patient care.
• Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust plans according to clinical findings and patient goals.
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation objectives, mobility strategies, and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with hospital and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Licensed physiotherapist with experience in post‑acute or inpatient rehabilitation.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for multidisciplinary teamwork and patient education.
• Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous professional development.
