Pipeline Welding and NDT Inspector

About the role

The Pipeline Welding and NDT Inspector will be based in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Team Leader and working closely with project managers, technical managers and clients. The role involves ensuring compliance with international codes and standards for welding and non‑destructive testing on pipeline projects.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve vendor documents, material certificates, inspection and test plans, and welding procedures.
• Conduct material receiving inspections, monitor welding, PWHT, hydrostatic and pneumatic testing, and verify NDT reports and radiographs.
• Raise non‑conformance reports, verify corrective actions, and prepare weekly and monthly inspection reports.

Required profile

• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI certification with at least 5 years post‑certification experience.
• ASNT Level 2 in RT, MT, PT and UT with at least 3 years practical experience.
• Diploma (3 years) with >12 years or Bachelor (4 years) with >10 years industrial QA/QC experience in pipeline welding and NDT.
• Minimum 8 years (Diploma) or 6 years (Bachelor) oil & gas experience.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, BS and other international codes.
• Proficiency in welding inspection, NDT techniques (RT, MT, PT, UT) and related documentation.
• H2S safety induction and site safety training.
• Ability to interpret radiographs and generate concise inspection reports.
