Planning Manager - Contracting

About the role

Careers International is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to lead the planning and scheduling functions for large-scale infrastructure projects, electrical projects and other civil works. The role covers managing project timelines, resource allocation and coordination so that complex infrastructure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project schedules for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors to align project deliverables with infrastructure objectives.
• Lead project risk assessments and mitigation planning.
• Oversee planning from pre-construction to project handover, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.
• Plan resources and manage manpower and equipment allocation.
• Use Primavera P6 and other software to track milestones and deliverables.
• Manage relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders such as municipalities and utility companies.
• Perform critical path analysis, delay management and recommend corrective actions for schedule deviations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Infrastructure Management or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure project planning and civil engineering.
• Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects from planning to execution.
• Strong understanding of civil construction processes and government regulations for infrastructure development.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project and other project planning software.
• Preferred: PMP certification or similar project management programme.
• Preferred: expertise in contracts, procurement and large-scale project management.
