Plumbing & Firefighting Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing & Firefighting Design Engineer to join our MEP team in Dubai. The role involves delivering high‑quality plumbing and fire protection designs for a variety of sectors while ensuring compliance with international codes and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare plumbing and firefighting system designs for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial and mixed‑use projects.
• Perform engineering calculations and equipment sizing in line with project requirements and applicable codes.
• Develop schematic, detailed, tender and IFC drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Ensure designs comply with standards such as NFPA, IPC, ASPE, BS EN and local authority regulations.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical, civil and BIM teams to achieve fully coordinated engineering solutions.
• Assist in preparing design reports, technical submissions and documentation for authority approvals.
• Review internal design comments, incorporate revisions and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Lead a small design team, allocate tasks, review work and support resolution of technical and coordination issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6–10 years of experience in plumbing and firefighting design, preferably within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and local regulations.
• Proven ability to lead or coordinate a small design team.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
