PMC Construction Supervisor - Pipeline

About the role

Wood is recruiting an experienced Construction Supervisor - Pipeline for an ADNOC Onshore client, based at an onshore site in Abu Dhabi within its Oil, Gas & New Energies business. The supervisor monitors pipeline construction carried out by EPC contractors and acts as the PMC representative on site, ensuring safe and efficient execution of installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise pipeline construction activities: ROW preparation, trenching and excavation, stringing and pipe laying, welding and NDT, coating and wrapping, lowering-in, backfilling and reinstatement.
• Monitor contractor compliance with approved IFC drawings, method statements and procedures, and verify availability of materials, equipment, manpower and permits.
• Conduct daily site inspections, enforce ADNOC HSE requirements and Life Saving Rules, and take part in toolbox talks, safety walks and risk assessments.
• Monitor the Permit to Work system, witness welding, NDT, coating inspection, hydrotesting and mechanical completion, and verify punch list closure before commissioning.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, HSE, survey and commissioning teams, attend progress meetings, resolve issues and escalate critical concerns.
• Track progress against approved schedules, identify delays and recommend recovery actions, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10-15 years of pipeline construction experience in oil and gas projects.
• Minimum 5 years in a PMC or client representative role.
• ADNOC onshore project experience preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.4/B31.8 API standards and ADNOC onshore specifications.
• Pipeline welding and NDT requirements, hydrotesting and commissioning procedures.
