PMC Senior Construction Engineer - Offshore

About the role

Wood is hiring a Senior Construction Engineer for its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team, covering all offshore activities for a high-profile client. The engineer monitors, supervises and coordinates offshore construction, installation, modification and commissioning-readiness activities for ADNOC offshore projects, ensuring EPC contractors, offshore installation contractors and subcontractors follow approved drawings, project specifications, ADNOC standards, contractual requirements, international codes and strict offshore HSE rules. The role covers offshore platforms, jackets, topsides, pipelines, subsea interfaces, brownfield modifications, equipment installation, structural works, piping systems and associated facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise offshore construction and installation by EPC and installation contractors, including platforms, jackets, topsides, modules, structural steel, piping, mechanical equipment, cable trays, electrical and instrumentation systems, and verify work against approved drawings, procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
• Monitor contractor mobilization, personnel deployment, equipment readiness, work fronts and resource use; conduct site inspections and walkdowns; identify constructability and engineering issues and coordinate their resolution.
• Coordinate construction sequencing with marine operations, vessel movements, lifting activities and offshore operational requirements, and escalate critical technical, HSE, quality and schedule issues to the PMC Construction Manager.
• Track progress against baseline schedules and milestones, review daily reports, work plans and productivity data, and coordinate with PMC Planning and Project Controls to forecast completion and identify critical-path delays.
• Monitor activities affected by weather windows, sea conditions, vessel availability and operational shutdowns, and review contractor recovery plans.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE policies, UAE regulations, permit-to-work systems, job safety analyses, toolbox talks and emergency response arrangements.
