Power Supply Team Leader

About the role

The Power Supply Team Leader will supervise a group of Power Supply Technicians responsible for the maintenance of building services and power supply facilities for the Dubai Metro. This permanent, onsite position ensures reliable operation of high‑voltage traction power, sub‑stations and emergency power systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead field technicians in preventive and corrective maintenance of HV traction supplies, LV systems, UPS, and related equipment.
• Diagnose electrical/mechanical faults, replace faulty components and coordinate workshop repairs.
• Maintain tools and equipment, conduct electrical and stress testing, and recommend modifications.
• Ensure compliance with Serco Dubai Metro procedures and record all activities in the computerized maintenance management system.
• Assist the Power Supply Engineer on complex projects and new installations.
• Perform performance reviews, support disciplinary and grievance processes, and rotate into first‑line response duties as needed.
• Drive work vehicles for emergencies and execute shift duties.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of 750 V DC traction, 132 kV/33 kV GIS, transformers, reactors, condensers, earthing transformers, high‑speed DC circuit breakers, cabling, 3rd‑rail electrification and sub‑station ancillary plant.
• Good eyesight with normal colour vision.
• Experience operating SCADA systems and configuring programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Ability to use and calibrate electrical/electronic test equipment and computer‑based maintenance tools.
• Capability to produce simple technical reports, method statements and basic drawings.
