Practical Nurse

About the role

Royal Health Al Salam Specialized Hospital in Abu Dhabi is hiring a full-time Practical Nurse (PN) for a 4-year position. The PN provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and supports inpatient care activities such as bedside care, monitoring, activities of daily living, documentation, infection control and patient safety.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to assigned patients under RN supervision
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, pain scores and patient observations
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, feeding, mobility, elimination)
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge, and report changes in condition to the RN or physician
• Assist RNs and physicians during procedures and treatments, perform non-invasive procedures and collect and transport specimens
• Assist with medication preparation and administration within scope and policy, document treatments and monitor for adverse reactions
• Document nursing care in the medical record, complete checklists and forms, and maintain patient confidentiality
• Follow infection prevention and control guidelines, hand hygiene and isolation precautions
• Take part in shift handovers, nursing huddles, quality improvement initiatives and mandatory training

Required profile

• Diploma in Nursing / Practical Nursing (minimum 3 years)
• Valid DOH Practical Nurse license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Previous inpatient or hospital experience preferred
