Primary Teacher - KS1 (British Curriculum)

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Primary Teacher for KS1 at Al Shohub Private School, a British curriculum, mixed-gender primary school in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi. The school was founded in 1999 and is part of the Aldar family of schools in the UAE; the majority of its students are Emiratis.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver sessions covering the whole ability range in the class, and organise classroom provision and learning resources
• Observe and assess children according to school assessments, and adjust planning and curriculum based on progress
• Embed the school's language and attitudes in the curriculum and take responsibility for the progress of a class
• Act as a positive role model, promote self-control and independence, and carry out duties within school policy
• Work in a curriculum action group and take part in school events, outings and weekend or evening activities
• Communicate with parents and carers about achievements and well-being using school systems such as CPOMS
• Contribute to the wider life of the school and run a weekly ECA each term

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with PGCE or another teacher qualification
• At least 1-2 years of teaching experience
• Clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check; offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance
• Experience working with students for whom English is not their first language
