Principal BIM Information Manager - Structures

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for an experienced Principal BIM / Information Manager (Structures) to support the delivery of multidisciplinary projects across the Middle East. Working closely with structural engineering teams, project managers, design managers and discipline leads, the role ensures BIM processes are applied consistently, supports project mobilisation, coordination, quality assurance and compliance with ISO 19650 information management requirements. It suits a professional with a structural engineering background who enjoys driving collaboration and improving delivery workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Act as BIM and Information Management lead for the Structural Engineering business across the Middle East and GCC, supporting the regional Digital Delivery Strategy and serving as the main escalation point for structure-related BIM queries.
• Provide technical leadership, governance and assurance for BIM activities, and help the Head of BIM develop departmental strategies, standards and workflows.
• Lead BIM across major multidisciplinary projects from pursuit to close-out, including BIM Execution Plans, Information Delivery Plans and BIM mobilisation.
• Coordinate structural BIM deliverables with architecture, MEP, infrastructure and specialist disciplines, and run model federation, coordination reviews and issue resolution.
• Implement ISO 19650-compliant information management, guide Common Data Environment (CDE) use, and support compliance with Employer, Asset and Exchange Information Requirements.
• Oversee creation of BIM models, templates, families and schedules; generate COBIE spreadsheets; ensure interoperability with analysis tools; and chair BIM coordination meetings.
• Support RFI authoring and responses, and communicate with project directors, project managers and design managers.
• Promote BIM audits, health checks and quality control procedures, and identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Supervise coordinators, task team managers and technicians, run training sessions, set performance KPIs and build BIM strategy and workflow roadmaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12-15 years of experience in the AEC industry, including at least 8 years of BIM leadership on major multidisciplinary projects.
• Proven experience leading BIM delivery for large-scale structural projects across the Middle East and implementing ISO 19650 workflows.
• Experience supporting bids, mobilisation, project delivery and digital transformation initiatives.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence teams across multiple offices and disciplines.

Required skills

• Mandatory: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Forma, Revizto, ISO 19650 information management.
• Preferred: Solibri, BIM 360, Dynamo, Power BI, Rhino / Grasshopper, ACC Data Exchange, OpenBIM (IFC, BCF), ISO 7817, BS EN 17412, BIMForum LOD framework, Common Data Environment governance.
