Principal Fire Engineer / Consultant

About the role

Jensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Principal Fire Engineer / Principal Consultant to join its Middle East team in Dubai. This senior position will lead complex fire and life safety projects across the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, providing technical leadership and client management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative, performance‑based fire engineering solutions for diverse sectors.
• Lead delivery of complex Fire & Life Safety projects, including plan reviews, fire code analyses, technical reports and site inspections.
• Provide technical oversight and alternative compliance strategies to ensure code‑compliant, high‑quality outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, support business development and act as a trusted advisor.
• Mentor and manage a team of 4‑7 fire engineers, driving technical excellence and collaboration.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree in Fire Engineering, Architecture or related field; chartered engineer status or progressing towards it.
• Minimum 13 years of experience in building code and fire & life safety consulting within a professional consultancy.
• Proven Middle East experience with performance‑based design, plan reviews and FLS inspections on large, complex projects.
• Strong communication, leadership and project management skills.
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify business growth opportunities.
