Principal Fire Engineer Consultant

About the role

Jensen Hughes is looking for an experienced Principal Fire Engineer / Principal Consultant to join its growing Middle East team in Dubai, UAE. This senior role supports a diverse portfolio of projects across the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, combining technical expertise in fire and life safety engineering with leadership, commercial awareness and client management. You will lead complex assignments, guide a team of about 4-7 Fire Engineers and help drive business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop performance-based fire engineering solutions across many sectors, with technical leadership and code-compliant outcomes
• Lead Fire & Life Safety projects: building plan and fire code reviews, fire engineering analyses, technical reports, site inspection oversight and alternative compliance strategies
• Build fire protection strategies and performance-based designs, and act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders
• Serve as primary technical lead with design teams, clients and Civil Defence authorities
• Mentor and manage junior engineers, and support project planning, resource management and commercial performance

Required profile

• Postgraduate degree in Engineering (preferably Fire Engineering), Architecture or a related field, with chartered engineer status or progress toward it
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Fire Engineering or equivalent certification highly desirable
• At least 13 years of experience in building code and Fire & Life Safety consulting, with an established client network
• Proven Middle East experience in building code consulting, performance-based design, plan reviews, field reviews and FLS inspections
