Principal Product Designer

About the role

Inception42, a G42 company, is looking for a hands-on Principal Product Designer to lead design work and manage a design pod across its AI-native portfolio: personal AI agents, executive intelligence, agentic workflows, governance platforms and domain-specific solutions. The role owns design from discovery through delivery, sets the craft bar and design systems, and works at the boundary of design, product and applied AI.

Key responsibilities

• Define the product design vision, experience principles and quality bar, and turn abstract vision and emerging AI capability into concrete, shipped products
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Science teams on strategy, roadmaps and use cases derived from business and government requirements
• Lead discovery, UX research, journey mapping, interaction design, prototyping, usability tests and production, running several projects at once
• Design AI-native experiences for agents, copilots, multi-agent systems, dashboards and conversational interfaces, making AI capabilities and their limits legible
• Contribute to evaluation by defining what good output looks like and helping build rubrics, test sets and human review loops
• Establish and govern scalable design systems across web, mobile, conversational, voice and workflows, with English and Arabic support and right-to-left layout
• Ensure designs meet sovereign and responsible-AI expectations: AI disclosure, privacy, data residency, auditability and human-in-the-loop control
• Recruit, mentor and lead product designers, including contractors, and present design work to executives, engineers, government stakeholders and customers

Required profile

• 10+ years of product design experience, including managing teams for major design initiatives
• Online portfolio showing end-to-end product ownership, interaction design, visual craft and measurable outcomes
• Experience with complex enterprise, SaaS, workflow, operational or data-rich products
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Product Design, Interaction Design, HCI or a related field
• Preferred: experience with AI governance, workflow builders, decision-intelligence products or enterprise AI platforms, and bilingual Arabic and English product design

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in Figma and other prototyping tools
• User research, information architecture, prototyping, usability testing and design systems
• Experience designing AI-powered products such as agents, copilots and conversational UIs
• Familiarity with prompts, context, RAG, citations, memory and evaluations
• Preferred: familiarity with frontend technologies or design-to-code workflows, and conversational and voice design fundamentals
