Procurement Engineer

About the role

Safad is looking for a dedicated Procurement Engineer in Abu Dhabi to manage end-to-end procurement of engineering materials and equipment, evaluate supplier proposals and ensure all purchasing complies with project specifications, budget and quality standards. The position is listed as a contract.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the complete procurement cycle for engineering materials, equipment and sub-contractor services.
• Review project BOQs, specifications and technical drawings to prepare RFQs and RFPs.
• Evaluate supplier bids technically and commercially against specifications, standards and budget limits.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties and delivery schedules with local and international suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships, evaluate vendor performance and maintain an approved vendor list.
• Coordinate with site engineers, consultants and quality control teams on material submittals, samples and inspections.
• Track purchase orders, expedite deliveries and resolve supply chain delays.
• Ensure compliance with commercial terms, legal requirements, company policies and regulations.
• Prepare procurement trackers, cost analysis reports and purchase order documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Procurement Engineer in a construction or engineering setting.
• Experience with major industry players such as NAFFCO or similar tier-1 fire protection, MEP or construction companies.
• Fluency in Arabic, English and Hindi.

• AutoCAD drawings, technical specifications and BOQs review.
• ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
