Procurement Officer – Aluminium & Glass Materials

About the role

This position processes, procures and manages purchase requisitions and purchase orders for materials, aiming to obtain the best prices and payment terms while meeting quality standards, specifications and delivery timelines needed to keep project schedules on track. It sits under a direct reporting staff of 1 and covers a materials budget of AED million.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure purchase requisitions and purchase orders are processed and materials delivered within 3-4 working days, according to specifications.
• Procure economically, beat budget and market prices, and keep complete purchase records by project and by item.
• Maintain materials cost control sheets by project and prepare monthly savings reports against budget.
• Monitor project material costs against the approved budget, compare materials and quantities, and obtain variance explanations and approvals.
• Coordinate with Technical, Planning, Factory and Store teams to clarify material descriptions and delivery requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers on timely delivery, defects and shortages, and source new products and trusted suppliers with better terms.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in aluminium and glass or in purchasing.
• Familiarity with procurement of materials and experience in the same or a related field.

Required skills

• Ability to understand requirements and specifications.
• Technical knowledge of international façade systems and facade industry components.
• Basic knowledge of contractual issues.
• Awareness of local and international procurement sources.
