Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will lead end‑to‑end purchasing activities for projects and operational needs, ensuring cost‑effective solutions while meeting technical and commercial specifications. This role collaborates closely with engineering, project, logistics and finance teams to guarantee timely delivery of materials and services across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full procurement cycle for equipment, transportation services, and project materials.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value.
• Prepare and process RFQs, purchase orders, contracts, and procurement reports.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to align delivery schedules with project timelines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers and OEMs.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, project specifications, and Abu Dhabi market regulations.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives and vendor management strategies.
• Conduct market analysis to identify new suppliers, pricing trends, and opportunities.
• Handle import/export documentation and customs clearance when required.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and contract documentation.
• Assist in contract administration, reviewing agreements, variations, and claims.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of procurement experience in contracting companies, preferably in Energy or Transmission & Distribution sectors.
• Strong knowledge of the Abu Dhabi/UAE market and an established supplier network.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
