Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing the supply of switchgear components, ensuring cost‑effective and high‑quality procurement aligned with engineering specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with local and international switchgear suppliers and distributors to secure cost‑effective, high-quality materials.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to ensure purchased items meet strict technical requirements.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders, track critical materials, resolve delivery delays and maintain optimal inventory levels with stores.
• Monitor end‑to‑end supplier performance to meet tight project deadlines and proactively address supply chain bottlenecks.
• Maintain audit‑ready procurement documentation and records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience with switchgear products, including knowledge of switchgear parameters and internal panel components.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Established network and market knowledge of switchgear suppliers/distributors in the UAE.
