Procurement Officer – MEP Construction

About the role

The Procurement Officer – MEP Construction will manage the sourcing and acquisition of mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) materials, equipment and subcontract packages for construction projects. Working closely with engineering, planning, quantity surveying and site teams, the role ensures that all items are delivered on time, within budget and in line with project milestones.

Key responsibilities

• Review material requisitions and procurement requests from project teams.
• Source, evaluate and qualify suppliers for MEP materials and equipment.
• Obtain, analyse and compare technical and commercial quotations.
• Prepare bid comparison sheets and commercial evaluation reports.
• Issue purchase orders according to company procedures and approved budgets.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, QS and site teams to align procurement with project schedules.
• Monitor material submittal approvals and prioritise procurement activities.
• Update procurement plans based on project progress and resolve material shortages.
• Maintain approved vendor lists and identify alternative suppliers to mitigate risks.
• Track deliveries, maintain procurement records and prepare regular progress reports.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 4–6 years of procurement experience in an MEP construction environment, preferably on high‑rise or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction materials.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Odoo.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement reporting tools.
• Understanding of contract terms, commercial conditions and supply‑chain management.
