Product Owner - Retail Store Technology

About the role

A retail technology role based in Dubai (JAFZA One) for a Product Owner responsible for the technology used by 17,000 store colleagues. The aim is to simplify, consolidate and modernise the colleague-facing technology estate so that colleagues have what they need on as few devices as possible. The position suits a manager or senior manager depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the infrastructure and connectivity agenda: identify, prioritise and resolve Wi-Fi, hardware and device reliability issues, and work with infrastructure teams to keep the physical technology estate stable across all store formats and geographies.
• Rationalise the device estate: define a device strategy and drive consolidation of colleague devices across stores and brands.
• Consolidate the colleague application landscape: own the roadmap to unify multiple vendor applications and dashboards into a single, seamless colleague application.
• Lead the front-end overhaul of the colleague app, migrating from Xamarin to React Native and redesigning the frontend experience.
• Modernise inventory management and support the replacement of the legacy SIM application.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert on store technology, guiding stakeholders and shaping the product roadmap.
• Work hands-on with salesfloor colleagues, infrastructure teams, business units, product managers, data teams, engineering, QA and solution architects to turn operational reality into product requirements.

Required profile

• 10+ years of retail experience across stores and central office, including retail transformation projects.
• Experience leading infrastructure and connectivity improvements and resolving physical technology constraints in stores.
• Proven track record of technology consolidation and simplification, with measurable gains in adoption and productivity.
• Experience owning mobile or colleague-facing applications, ideally in React Native or an equivalent modern framework, with a portfolio of delivered work.
• Ability to communicate clearly with CEOs, CDOs and C-suite stakeholders, and to ship product at pace while managing competing priorities.
• Comfortable building prototypes, automating workflows with agents, and collaborating without formal authority.
