Production Planner

About the role

The Production Planner creates and maintains production schedules, manages material requirements, releases work orders and monitors production progress so that customer orders are delivered on time. The role works closely with Production, Purchasing and Stores to make sure materials and resources are available for manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain and update production schedules and plans
• Forecast material requirements and calculate order dates based on supplier lead times
• Manage materials for manufacturing operations involving 500+ part numbers
• Create, release, manage and distribute work orders through the ERP system
• Assign released work orders to customer orders and track their progress
• Report the status of released work orders to the Production Manager
• Compare actual work order operation times with standard times and report variances
• Maintain accurate planning data in the ERP system
• Work with Production, Purchasing and Stores to support manufacturing needs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline
• 3-5 years of experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing Planning, Material Planning or a similar role in a manufacturing environment

• ERP systems; training or certification in ERP/MRP systems (especially Odoo) is beneficial
