Production Supervisor

About the role

EDGE, an advanced technology group headquartered in the United Arab Emirates and based in Abu Dhabi, is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join its Production team. The role supervises day-to-day production activities, allocates resources and leads a team of Machine Operators so that production targets are met safely, efficiently and in line with quality requirements. The supervisor works closely with the Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues, minimise machine downtime and reduce rejection rates.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate manpower and resources to achieve daily production targets.
• Monitor production and ensure work follows approved work instructions and procedures.
• Supervise and support Machine Operators and coach them regularly.
• Monitor product quality and take corrective action to reduce rejection and non-conformity rates; coordinate with Quality on investigations and with Maintenance on machine upkeep.
• Ensure lot numbering and production traceability are followed.
• Monitor performance, efficiency and output against targets and prepare regular production reports.
• Identify issues, trends and improvement opportunities, and support ISO 9001 and continuous improvement.
• Conduct functional tests for materials where required.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, report hazards, incidents and near misses, and ensure safe working procedures and PPE are used.

Required profile

• Relevant technical, vocational or manufacturing qualification.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment and supervising Machine Operators.
• Knowledge of industrial or special-purpose machinery and of quality and HSE requirements.
• Currently located in the UAE and willing to work shifts, 6 days per week.
• English proficiency is required.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in defence, ammunition, precision manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or quality management systems.
• Experience with production reporting, rejection analysis, corrective actions, machine downtime coordination and training Machine Operators.
