Project Manager - Switchgear & Automation

About the role

Lucy Zodion Limited is hiring a Project Manager in Dubai to oversee complex power and automation projects, from order confirmation to final delivery. The role covers high-value contracts, intricate technical configurations and cross-functional coordination, ensuring on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and profitability. It focuses on Switchgear and RTU projects with high BOM complexity.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of Switchgear and RTU projects, developing plans, timelines and resource allocations, and managing risks and corrective actions
• Act as main contact for key customers, run project reviews, follow up on payments, LCs and PDCs, and keep customer expectations aligned with internal capabilities
• Coordinate FAT inspections, close out FAT comments and secure dispatch clearance
• Review and validate high-value quotations and technical specifications, and manage change orders and commercial negotiations
• Work with sales, order handling, logistics and finance, and serve as technical liaison for MV switchgear and automation projects
• Validate technical configurations with engineering, help optimise BOM costs, give pre-sales technical guidance and take part in customer training
• Maintain project records, schedules, budgets and reports, and support audits and post-project reviews

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or a related field
• Five to ten years of project management experience, preferably in electrical distribution or industrial equipment
• Experience coordinating customers and dealing with UAE utilities is an advantage
• Excellent English; Arabic speaking is an advantage
• Valid UAE driving licence and preferably own car

Required skills

• Strong understanding of power and automation systems, electrical distribution networks and BOM structures
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Primavera) and ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
• PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
