Purchase Executive

About the role

The Purchase Executive is responsible for ensuring that vessels are supplied with authorised stores, spares and other products in a timely and cost‑effective manner. Working within the company’s quality and purchasing policies, the role supports the maritime fleet operating from Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Accurately input vessel and office requisitions into the company system and clarify any additional information promptly.
• Select suppliers from approved lists, issue enquiries and orders, and apply group contracts where applicable, with special attention to fast‑track items.
• Liaise closely with Fleet Superintendents on purchasing matters and coordinate delivery of ship spares and stores upon authorization.
• Communicate spares shipment details to vessels and agents, monitor order progress onboard, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
• Provide backup support to other Purchasing Officers as needed.
• Receive, verify and manage invoices in line with procedures and forward them to the Accounts Department for payment.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably within a maritime or related environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good communication skills for interaction with fleet personnel, suppliers and internal departments.
