About the role

The Purchaser will be responsible for studying material requisitions from various projects, sourcing ideal suppliers, negotiating optimal prices, and managing logistics to ensure timely delivery. This role also involves maintaining inventory levels according to prescribed norms.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in procuring materials, equipment, equipment hire, labour hire, sub‑contracts and services following company purchasing policies.
• Obtain and review supplier quotes, make recommendations, place orders and ensure timely delivery to job sites.
• Maintain accurate purchase and inventory records, monitor supplier performance, and ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with divisional, project and site managers to understand material and service needs.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and develop supplier relationships to improve the purchasing experience.

Required profile

• Graduation preferably in Commerce or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering; supply‑chain certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project material purchasing within an electrical contracting company dealing with high‑voltage, low‑voltage, solar or energy‑saving projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency in ERP MM module; SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
