QC Inspector - Painting & Insulation

About the role

Samsung E&A, a specialized EPC company active in oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, energy transition and industrial sectors, is hiring a full-time QC Inspector for painting and insulation in Al Ruwais. The role covers quality management at the job site, from setting up the quality system to sampling inspections and liaison with clients on quality issues.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, implement and develop the quality management system in line with project requirements and ISO 9001, and set up the overall quality organisation
• Prevent Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through proactive quality management
• Prepare the site quality execution plan and announce it at the kick-off meeting, then distribute tasks and manage team performance
• Develop quality training courses and establish processes to control rework and eliminate risks
• Set and track quality performance indicators, analyse root causes of issues and lead quality meetings with clients and subcontractors
• Carry out sampling inspections, conduct internal quality audits of construction staff and subcontractors, and liaise with clients on quality issues and NCRs
• Manage quality activities to achieve mechanical completion and propose quality improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a relevant field
• 10+ years of experience in QA/QC inspections from project start to completion
• Familiarity with project specifications and standards, and experience on medium to large projects
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plant projects, and in engineering and construction companies

Required skills

• Welding: AWS CWI, CSWIP 3.1 WI, or an approved equivalent
• Mechanical: API 510, 570, 653
• Coating: NACE CIP, SSPC PCI, CSWIP BGAS, or an approved equivalent
• ASNT Level II or III
• In-depth knowledge of codes, standards and regulations, and advanced inspection techniques and material testing methods
