Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager works within the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (OIE) at Global Studies University, a non-profit higher education institution based in Sharjah, UAE. The role reports to the Director of OIE, whose aim is to coordinate assessment practices across the campus to support evidence-based decision making and to show the quality of teaching, learning, research and publishing. The manager supports quality assurance and enhancement activities, from monitoring strategic goals and helping with international accreditation and global rankings, to ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Candidates must have a background and proven long-term experience, and an understanding of the requirements and processes needed for an institution to remain in good standing in accreditation and licensure matters in the United Arab Emirates.

Key responsibilities

• Work with academic programs to manage periodic reviews of academic quality and standards
• Monitor the dissemination of accurate institutional information to administrators, the university community, external partners and regulators
• Lead the preparation of university publications such as the Fact Book and annual performance reports
• Prepare reports supporting accreditation processes and help coordinate cyclical submissions to ranking agencies
• Take part in strategic planning, institutional effectiveness and outcomes assessment, and support risk management as assigned
• Supervise monitoring of data integrity and recommend improvements to data and research quality
• Monitor compliance with institutional and program KPIs and ensure timely collection of KPI data
• Keep the QA Manual updated and implemented, and give technical support and training to departments on KPI reporting
• Collect, analyse, validate and use data for the continuous review cycle, and ensure program self-studies are completed on schedule
• Support accreditation processes, maintain a register of corrective actions, and coordinate with regulatory bodies on accreditation requirements
• Ensure accreditation documentation is current and available, and monitor the maintenance of course records

Required profile

• Master's degree in a relevant field
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in quality assurance in higher education
• Experience with accreditation processes, assessment processes and regulatory compliance in the UAE, and with university ranking systems
• Experience managing and developing data systems

Required skills

• Strong organisational skills, initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
• Excellent English oral and written communication, including presentation skills
• Teamwork in a multicultural environment, handling pressure and meeting deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Professionalism and confidentiality
