About the role
The receptionist is the first point of contact for the school, welcoming parents, visitors, staff and students and ensuring a positive experience for everyone who interacts with the campus.
Key responsibilities
- Provide accurate information on location, curriculum, admission procedures and arrange school tours.
- Answer telephone calls courteously, direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel and manage visitor flow.
- Maintain a visitor and caller database, tracking monthly volumes for marketing and lead generation.
- Perform administrative and secretarial tasks to support the Front of House team.
- Uphold GEMS Education policies, procedures and codes of conduct at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
Required profile
- At least one year of experience in a receptionist or customer‑service role.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle periods of high demand.
- Proficient in general office and computer tasks.
Required skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – advanced user preferred.
