Registered Nurse – ICU (Trauma Care)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – ICU (Trauma Care) provides specialized nursing care to critically ill trauma patients within the Intensive Care Unit of Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital. Working in a high‑acuity environment, the nurse ensures safe, evidence‑based treatment while supporting patients and families throughout their critical care journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence‑based nursing care to critically ill trauma patients in the ICU.
• Continuously monitor complex clinical conditions and operate advanced critical‑care equipment.
• Participate in trauma resuscitations, emergency interventions, and rapid‑response situations.
• Administer medications, blood products, and life‑support therapies accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized trauma care plans.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EMR system.
• Educate and support patients’ families with clear communication.
• Maintain infection‑prevention, patient‑safety, and quality standards in line with DOH regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
• Valid DOH Registered Nurse license or eligibility to obtain one.
• 2–3 years recent ICU experience in a tertiary hospital.
• Experience in a dedicated Trauma ICU, Surgical ICU, or Level I/II Trauma Center.
• Current certification in relevant critical‑care competencies.
