Registered Nurse – Inpatient Pediatrics

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Inpatient Pediatrics provides high‑quality, family‑centered care to children admitted to the pediatric unit. The role involves comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized nursing care while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care to pediatric patients with diverse medical, surgical, or rehabilitation needs.
• Monitor and record vital signs, growth, and development, promptly reporting any changes to the physician.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to prescribed protocols.
• Assist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and post‑procedure care.
• Educate and support families on the child’s condition, treatment plan, and home‑care requirements.
• Maintain accurate medical records, including assessments, care plans, and interventions.
• Follow infection‑control protocols and ensure a safe, child‑friendly environment.
• Identify potential risks such as falls and implement preventative measures.
• Participate in ongoing training, workshops, and certifications.
• Respond swiftly to medical emergencies, providing advanced life support or CPR as needed.
• Prepare and stabilize patients for transfer to higher levels of care when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Valid nursing license as required by regulatory authorities.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of inpatient pediatric nursing experience.
• Experience in critical care pediatrics or rehabilitation settings is an advantage.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
