Registered Nurse - OPD (Outpatient Department)

About the role

Royal Medical Center Ras Al Khaimah is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Outpatient Department (OPD). The nurse works within the scope of practice, placing the health, wellbeing and safety of patients first, and provides coordinated patient care, education and support to patients and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and identify patients' needs, perform systematic assessments and re-assessments, and record vital signs, escalating abnormalities
• Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, define nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes
• Administer medications, IV fluids and blood products, and provide wound care
• Perform basic life support and other resuscitation procedures within scope, prepare patients for examinations and treatments, and assist in procedures
• Facilitate safe admission, transfer and discharge, and educate patients and the public on health conditions

Required profile

• Valid license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant health authority, with qualifications and experience matching the mandate
• Owns and manages their own professional re-licensure
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support provider card
• Clear spoken and written English; Arabic communication is desirable
• Willingness to work across departments when necessary

Required skills

• Ability to work in an inter-professional team (desirable)
• Use of the electronic medical record platform for clinical documentation (desirable)
