Regular or Visiting Faculty – Chemical Engineering (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the American University of Sharjah seeks qualified candidates for regular or visiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, starting in Fall 2026. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supervising research, and contributing to the department’s academic mission.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures and labs in chemical, biological, biochemical, or biotechnology engineering.
• Develop and update curricula for Bachelor of Science and Master of Science programs.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including supervising theses and projects.
• Maintain an active research agenda and seek external funding.
• Participate in departmental service, committees, and accreditation activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong teaching portfolio.
• Evidence of research productivity and potential for external funding.
• Experience with the American model of higher education is highly desirable.
• Ability to teach a range of courses listed in the department’s curriculum.
