Research Nurse Coordinator

About the role

The Research Nurse Coordinator ensures that all human subjects research projects are conducted in compliance with protocols, regulations, and ethical standards. This role blends nursing care with research coordination, supporting investigators from study design through execution and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation and conduct of research projects, ensuring protocol adherence and timely documentation.
• Serve as primary liaison between investigators, research staff, and the research administration office.
• Perform nursing assessments, develop care plans, and document findings for research subjects.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, and manage specialized equipment required by protocols.
• Handle telephone triage, discharge planning, and ongoing patient care coordination.
• Prepare and maintain regulatory and ethics submissions, including amendments, safety reports, and study close‑out documentation.
• Maintain inspection‑ready regulatory binders and study documentation in line with ICH‑GCP requirements.
• Assist with audit preparation, response, and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Develop and deliver training materials for research protocols and conduct informed consent processes.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in clinical research or human subjects protection.
• Strong knowledge of research regulations, ICH‑GCP, and institutional policies.
• Ability to interpret protocols, address enrollment and safety questions, and supervise nursing activities.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with investigators, staff, and external stakeholders.
