Resident Engineer - Bridges & Infrastructure, Dubai

About the role

Zutari, an engineering firm with more than 90 years of experience, is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to support major infrastructure works in Dubai, UAE. The role suits a seasoned site-based engineer with strong experience in bridge works, road infrastructure and multidisciplinary coordination. It requires proven Resident Engineer experience in Dubai, a good understanding of local authority requirements and the ability to lead site supervision on complex projects. RTA approval is required and the target start date is August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site supervision, monitoring bridge works, roadworks and associated infrastructure against approved drawings and specifications, keeping work safe, on programme and to quality standards.
• Review contractor methodologies, progress and site performance.
• Provide technical oversight of bridge construction, including interface coordination between bridges, roads, drainage and utilities, and proactively resolve site issues.
• Liaise with the RTA, contractors, clients and other stakeholders, support approvals, inspections and authority submissions, and act as the main on-site coordinator between contractor, client and project teams.
• Carry out regular inspections, maintain quality assurance and quality control, prepare progress reports, highlight risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all works comply with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10-15 years of relevant experience, with strong Resident Engineer experience in Dubai.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and delivering bridge projects; bridge experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of RTA standards, procedures and approval requirements; RTA approval is required.
• Proven ability to manage contractors, supervise site teams and coordinate across multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
