Resident Engineer (Roads and Infrastructure)

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead a large roads and infrastructure project in Dubai. The role involves overseeing staff, ensuring quality, safety and compliance, and acting as the technical liaison between AECOM, contractors and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of infrastructure packages, ensuring time, cost, quality, safety and sustainability targets are met.
• Supervise contractors to guarantee compliance with approved IFC drawings, specifications and contract milestones.
• Direct the supervision team (Resident Engineers, Inspectors, Surveyors) and conduct daily site inspections.
• Maintain high HSE standards, monitor progress against the baseline program and implement recovery actions when needed.
• Represent AECOM in client, authority and coordination meetings, preparing progress reports and risk mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, including roads, bridges, underpasses, metro and rail projects.
• Strong knowledge of Dubai RTA projects and local authority requirements.
• Proven project management skills with budget and schedule control.
• Willingness to work on‑site and travel as required.
